About me
I have been working as a freelance medical translator since 2025, when I completed my vocational BA in Translation.
The training I completed as a medical assistant from 2013 to 2016 continues to inform my work today. As well as being familiar with the processes in surgeries and clinics, I also understand medical contexts and terminology from first-hand experience. This knowledge helps me to convey information clearly and with technical accuracy.
As part of my translation degree, I spent a year studying at university in Granada, where I developed my language skills in Spanish and Portuguese. During this time, I also specialised in audiovisual translation, including subtitling and translation for voice-over and dubbing. I further developed my knowledge of subtitling through courses at SDI Munich and as a subtitler with the broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk.
I am a member of the Bundesverband der Dolmetscher und Übersetzer e. V. (BDÜ) [Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators] and the ITI Medical and Pharmaceutical Network, and I regularly take part in both subject-related and language-focused CPD within and outside of these associations.
I work with Trados Studio 2024 or memoQ for all suitable translation projects to ensure quality, consistency and efficiency.
